  • You Can Experience the Worst Game of 2025, MindsEye, for Free

    CAN'T DRINK DUST.
The "Can't Drink Dust" guy you play as in the now removed Free Roam mode after completing the MindsEye campaign.

For those of you who truly hate yourself or have no fucks left to give, there is now a Free Starter Pack for MindsEye. Sorry but no, they won't pay you to play the game. Free is the best that you'll get right now. Experience a taste of my still current frontrunner for "Worst Game of 2025" with a free pack that includes one actual campaign mission and 14 user created experiences.

There have been a few updates released since my review of MindsEye went live in June. It's entirely possible that bug and glitch that I experienced, of which there were many, have been patched. I severely doubt they re-wrote the story to be any less terrible. I also doubt they made major changes to the missions to actually make them fun or interesting. I won't even begin to speculate about the state of that game's performance because it was absolutely abysmal at the time of my review.

If my review and the countless other reviews available to you haven't deterred you yet, then nothing really will. In this MindsEye Free Starter Pack, you get access to the "Robin Hood" campaign mission. This is the eighth main mission in the campaign This mission includes a basic shootout at a trailer park leading into an on-rails shootout during a car chase. If it's anything like the review version, you'll have unlimited ammo during the car chase and can literally just hold the trigger down the entire time.

In addition to the campaign mission, you are given access to a variety of additional content. This additional content includes experiences focused on survival, combat, ground races, and sky races. These experiences come from the ARCADIA system that was recently added to MindsEye. The ARCADIA system seems like a slightly improved take on the old Play missions that were present in MindsEye previously, which were nothing more than small play experiences made using Build a Rocket Boy's mission editor.

If for some unfathomable reason, you wish to keep playing MindsEye after trying out the Free Starter Pack, then you can do so for 50% off for a limited time. Just don't be too sad when you see that the "CAN'T DRINK DUST" guy is currently no longer around as Build a Rocket Boy pulled the Free Roam out of the game. What a shame.

    The Free Starter Pack contains:
    • Campaign Mission – Robin Hood
    • Garden Party – Drone Race
    • Chase The Sun – Drone Race
    • Honor Among Thieves
    • Downtown - Goin' Haywire
    • Crosstown Traffic – Checkpoint Race
    • Rude Interruption
    • Turbulence - Race
    • Free Bird – Sky Race
    • Winging It – Checkpoint Race
    • Craz-Eye Taxi – Checkpoint Race
    • Friendly Fire
    • Cruise Control – Sky Race
    • Fractured Echo – Survival Horde
    • Road To Hell - Race

They should be paying trial users, for hard drive space rental.

Holy crap. I'm surprised you would relay the news about the Free Starter Pack while warning us repeatedly to avoid this game like the plague. I can't tell if this is signal boosting the Free Starter Pack, or using this opportunity to remind the world that MindsEye is meant to be a slap to the face of gamers?

    Review: MindsEye
    by Shawn Zipay
The phrase "dog shit" comes to mind.

In the months leading to the release of MindsEye, I received many press mailings promoting some new information or media for the game. Many of those were passed along to you in the form of several brief news articles. One thing I didn't see in any of those mailings was information about review opportunities for MindsEye. The PR company handling these mailings usually starts to include links or details about requesting review codes well in ad...
