Square Enix announced that their tactical RPG, Final Fantasy Tactics, is making a comeback as Final Fantasy Tactics - The Ivalice Chronicles. This remastered and updated version of Tactics will be out on Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam on September 30, 2025.
This release features fully voiced dialogue, improved graphics, and several quality-of-life updates. Those quality-of-life updates include new difficulties, revamped UI, auto save feature, and more to make the game more accessible to newcomers. The game still retains its traditional turn-based combat and "elaborate" character progression system. For those not keen on the new visuals, it seems like you will be able to toggle the old UI and style back on if you want.
