NetEase announced a new open ocean adventure-RPG today during the new PlayStation showcase. It's called Sea of Remnants and it takes players on a high-seas adventure featuring open-world exploration, naval combat, interactions and altercations with a bunch of different characters, and more.
Players assume the role of a "puppet-like sailor" that has lost all their memories. As you play, players will discover who this character really is while also shaping the world around them. You will be joined by "unique puppetfolk allies" while also being able to customize your ship with modular upgrades through exploration and turn-based battles.
They're saying that "every decision--whether sparing enemies or seizing opportunities--ill unleash dramatic ripple effects across the world." Rival factions will react to each choice and change Orbtopia's cityscape in response. They say that "no two captains will share the same story."
Sea of Remnants is expected to be released in 2026 for PlayStation 5, PC via Steam, iOS, and Android. This one will be free-to-play when it's released.
