Bungie will share the first public view of Marathon gameplay, news, and updates on Saturday, April 12 at 1pm ET (10am PT). The Marathon Gameplay Reveal Showcase will air on Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok.
Marathon is the upcoming team-based extraction shooter that simultaneously uses the name of an old Bungie franchise and is also the first new project from Bungie in over a decade. If you can believe it, the original Marathon was not a team-based extraction shooter when it came out in 1994.
This Marathon is set on the planet of Tau Ceti IV. Players will "inhabit the bodies of Runners, cybernetic mercenaries who have been designed to survive the planet's harsh environments." Players will have to look for "valuable loot including new weapons and gear."
Marathon does not yet have a release date set. It's currently in development for Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
