Kojima needs to start sharing whatever drugs he's on, because damn...

The Death Stranding 2: On the Beach panel at South by Southwest (SXSW) is currently live with Hideo Kojima, Norman Reedus, Troy Baker, and Woodkid. The panel opened not with a whimper, not with a bang, but with over 10 minutes of pure Kojima cranked up to 15.

We know that Death Stranding 2 will be released on June 26, 2025 for PlayStation 5. We also know that pre-orders for Death Stranding 2 begin on March 17, 2025. As this specific panel was presented by PlayStation, other potential platforms were not disclosed. Still, it would probably be safe to suggest that Death Stranding 2 will be a timed exclusive on PlayStation 5 just as the first game was.

Kojima also shared that there will be various pre-purchase bonuses and even a couple of premium editions of the game. All pre-orders will get an early unlock for a custom hologram, and at least three different silver gear items.


There will be a physical Collector's Edition released. It includes a bunch of additional physical items such as a 3" Dollman figurine, art cards, a letter from Kojima, and a 15" statue of "Magellan Man." This release also includes several additional in-game items and access to the game starting on June 24th. A Digital Deluxe Edition will offer various in-game bonuses, no physical items, and still also include the advanced access starting on June 24th.

As for the trailer... Well, let's just say that it's probably one of the most Kojima-ass trailers he's ever made. I can say that with a very high degree of certainty that there was a lot of just pure "what the fuck?!" moments throughout.
