Sony announces that a permanent price reduction is coming this March for PlayStation VR2. This includes the base model and the bundle deal that includes Horizon Call of the Mountain.
PlayStation VR2's price will go from a suggested retail price of $549 to $399.99. This is the model that includes the PlayStation VR2 headset, Sense controllers, and stereo earbuds.
The PlayStation VR2 Horizon Call of the Mountain Bundle goes from $599.99 down to $399.99. This bundle includes the headset, controllers, earbuds, and a PlayStation Store voucher code for Horizon Call of the Mountain.
Sony notes that while these price reductions should begin in March, which is just two days away now, it's possible that your local retailer may not update their prices immediately on the 1st of the month.
Related, Sony also notes that a recent update to PlayStation VR2 means that it now supports low-latency hand tracking. This will allow developers to create games that can track a player's hand position and movement through the headset's cameras. One such game that already supports hand tracking is Waltz of the Wizard.
