Square Enix released the official PC system requirements for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. The developer shared what you will need to run the game starting at 1080p and 30 FPS at minimum up to 4K and 60 FPS for the Ultra settings. For most people, it looks like the biggest barrier to entry will be the requirement of needing 155GB of free drive space just to install the game. For others, the barrier may be the requirement of needing an Nvidia RTX 2060 GPU or better.

Square Enix also notes a few of the improvements made to this PC release that are not present in the PlayStation 5 version. These improvements include better lighting, up to 120 FPS framerate support, Nvidia DLSS support, variable refresh rate (VRR) support, increased level of detail, increased texture resolution, and more. They also say that it will work just fine with either controllers or a mouse and keyboard. They also say that they are "working diligently on optimizations" to make the game playable on Steam Deck.
These minimum requirements are a drastic increase when compared to what was needed to run Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PC. To compare, Remake only needed an Intel Core i5-3300 or AMD FX-8350 CPU to run. Those CPUs could be paired with either an Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 with 3GB of VRAM or AMD Radeon RX 480 GPU to play at 1080p.
