Crowbar Collective, the studio behind the re-imagined release of the original Half-Life, just announced Rogue Point. Together with Team17 Digital, Crowbar Collective says that Rogue Point is a four-player co-op tactical rogue-lite shooter.
The story is kind of wild. Apparently someone known simply as "The CEO" has died. He was the richest man in the world. A bunch of "conglomerates seek to carve up his kingdom." They are attempting to do this by using the MERX app, where they can hire private mercenary armies. You're a member of Rogue Point, an "elite, independent vigilante squad" that alone is fighting back against these mercs.
So while you aren't technically a member of these corporate hired mercenary armies, you're still fighting for the interests of a corporation. Yeah, that checks out.
Anyway, this game features four-player co-op with some rogue-lite mechanics. A release date isn't nailed down just yet, but it looks like a 2025 release is possible.
Key Features:
CEO and Project Lead Adam Engels said “We’re very excited to share that we have partnered with Team 17 for our upcoming co-op shooter, Rogue Point. We cannot wait to go in depth about the game, and everything we learned while creating a new IP (as well as turning Crowbar Collective into a full time development studio). We can’t thank Team 17 enough for their support and expertise. Just like Black Mesa, we want to heavily involve the community in our development and updates. Our community was critical in the Early Access of Black Mesa and having Team 17 as a partner for Rogue Point helps us focus on development and community feedback!”
