  • Alien: Isolation 2 Confirmed by Creative Assembly

One of the best horror games ever made is finally getting a sequel.

The 10th anniversary of the launch of Alien: Isolation comes with word that Creative Assembly is starting to work on a sequel. The first title was a big hit amongst critics and players, and demands for a sequel have been strong since that game's release.

Creative Assembly's creative direct Al Hope says that the sequel is in "early development." Don't expect to hear much about this sequel for a little while though. Hope says that there will be more details shared only when they're ready to do so.

As the game is said to be in early development, there were no standard details shared. That means we don't know if the title will be Alien: Isolation 2 or have some other title. We also do not know of any sort of release window or on which platforms the game will be released on.

Despite being a critical success, Alien: Isolation was not exactly a commercial success. The game sold just one million copies in the first three months and had hit only 2.11 million units sold after six months. Sega did not consider the first game to be a commercial success.

After the release of Alien: Isolation, Creative Assembly released several more Total War entries and cancelled a competitive sci-fi themed shooter, Hyenas.
