Volgarr is a Viking and he's back after about a ten year absence. Volgarr the Viking 2 is out today from Digital Eclipse and is available for PC and consoles. This is a sequel to the original Volgarr the Viking from Crazy Viking Studios.
The sequel promises to deliver just as much 2D action-platforming as the original. Though a little older, Volgarr is said to be just as ruthless. Volgarr the Viking 2 features "new and expensive worlds inspired by Norse mythology." You will hack, slash, perform special abilities, and jump through several challenging stages.
The game boasts about having "the same unforgiving 1980s arcade style of challenge as the original." As this is a sequel coming about ten years after the original, there are some modern features added. These include a practice mode, optional checkpoints, save profiles, and unlimited continues. There is also a secret world and boss that can take on the game without using any of the modern accessibility features.
Volgarr the Viking 2 is available now on PC via Steam and GOG, and on PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch.
