Crime Boss: Rockay City first released on March 28, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and on PC via the Epic Games Store. This is the game that pulled in some of the lowest review scores of 2023.
In the 12+ months since that initial release, Ingame Studios and 505 Games released a considerable number of updates that fixed issues, addressed gameplay concerns, and even added new content. Is the game better now? I honestly have no idea. On paper, it sounds like it's a better game than it was, but I don't know of anybody playing it to find out for sure.
Perhaps you will be able to find out for yourself when Crime Boss: Rockay City releases on Steam on June 18. This release will include the changes that were made across eight major updates for the game.
The devs are also sharing a roadmap of updates and content they currently have planned for the game up through 2025. So if you do decide to pick it up on Steam, you've got about a year's worth of future updates to look forward to.
