  • Crime Boss: Rockay City is Getting a New Story Mode and You Can Test It Out This Weekend

    Progress will carry over.

Starting on June 5, players that own Crime Boss: Rockay City will be able to test out the new and expanded story mode. The test runs from the 5th through to June 8, but you will have to register your interest ahead of time on the game's Steam page.

This update is said to completely remove the Turf War and Roguelite mechanics from the experience. In their place will be a "focused, cinematic narrative campaign." The campaign will now...

Crime Boss DLC is Free to Keep Forever

The DLC will remain free for the foreseeable future.

505 Games and Ingame Studios just announced that they're going to keep the DLC for Crime Boss: Rockay City free "for the foreseeable future." This DLC was originally supposed to be free only for the Steam launch window but they decided to just keep it free forever.

Their reason for keeping it free forever? "Why the hell not." That is literally their reason. See?

    This means...

Crime Boss: Rockay City Steam Review

    A decent payday.

INGAME Studios has been hard at work since Crime Boss: Rockay City was released in March 2023. The game reviewed rather poorly during its 2023 debut and you can tell INGAME took the player and reviewer criticisms to heart. Since that release, the studio has released several major updates for Crime Boss ahead of its June 18, 2024 release on Steam. Crime Boss initially appears to outsiders as a game much akin to the Payday titles. That is, you would think that it's a...

Crime Boss: Rockay City Steam Playtest is Live

You can try before you buy.

The dynamic duo of 505 Games and developer Ingame Studios just launched a playtest of Crime Boss: Rockay City on Steam. This playtest allows you to try out the game ahead of the full Steam release on June 18th. It also presumably gives the developers a chance to make sure all of their systems are working properly.

If you recall, and even if you don't, Crime Boss: Rockay City is a 90s-era heist game that debuted on PC via the Epic Games Store...

Crime Boss: Rockay City Comes to Steam June 18

It brings with it a year's worth of improvements.

Crime Boss: Rockay City first released on March 28, 2023 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and on PC via the Epic Games Store. This is the game that pulled in some of the lowest review scores of 2023.

In the 12+ months since that initial release, Ingame Studios and 505 Games released a considerable number of updates that fixed issues, addressed gameplay concerns, and even added new content. Is the game better now? I...

505 Games Parent Company, Digital Bros, Lays Off 30% of Staff

The latest in what has been a terrible year for games development.

Digital Bros, the parent company that owns publisher 505 Games, announced plans (PDF) to reduce its workforce by 30%. These cuts will be made across a variety of owned studios under its belt. Those with a vested interest in the company should be thrilled to hear that Digital Bros expects "no significant impact" on their financials for 2023-2024 as a result of these layoffs.

    I'm sure those getting...

    Halloween Update Hits Crime Boss

A new themed update is out now for this heist-focused game.

The newly released and free Update 5.0 just landed for Crime Boss: Rockay City. This update seems to be full of Halloween themed content that you can engage with in some form or another. There are new spooky cosmetics to wear, a new butcher enemy to fight, and some non-Halloween quality of life updates to enjoy.

Crime Boss: Rockay City from Ingame Studios and 505 Games has been out for a while now on PlayStation...

    Crime Boss: Rockay City Updated

The game's third update is out now... for some reason.

The game that came and went like a fart in the wind just received its third major update today. Crime Boss: Rockay City's latest update is free to everyone playing the game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, or PC via Epic Games Store.

This update includes new missions, new environments, persistent character progression, improved stealth gameplay, rebalancing, and more. I mean, more power to you if you're still playing...

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Reviewing Worse than Crime Boss: Rockay City

Gollum manages to be worse than a game with Vanilla Ice.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was released today and I'm willing to bet that this won't be the last time you hear about this game. No, I suspect that you'll hear a bit more about this game when it comes time for some outlets to talk about the worst games released in 2023.

Thus far, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is sitting at just a 43% critic average on OpenCritic with only 5% of all critics actually recommending...

Crime Boss: Rockay City Launch Trailer

Get another look at a lot of yesterday's biggest stars.

A launch trailer came out today for Crime Boss: Rockay City. If you don't know about this game, I can't say I really blame you. As far as I know, the only thing we heard about this game previously was when it was announced during The Game Awards last December.

I haven't seen any news about this. I haven't seen previews about this game. In fact, they still haven't really shown off just what you're even doing in this...
