Square Enix has some Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth goodies to share with you today. First up, the studio released the "Story So Far" recap video for Rebirth. Not only is this video available right now on YouTube (and embedded below), but it will also be viewable from the main menu of Rebirth when it releases on February 29, 2024 for PlayStation 5.
The recap video is narrated by Red XIIII and goes over the events of Final Fantasy 7 Remake. Final Fantasy 7 Remake being the first part of this planned three-part series. Rebirth is the second part in the series. The third game was confirmed by Square Enix when Rebirth was officially revealed. However, neither a release date nor a title for that third game was revealed and is presumed to be several years out still.
It goes without saying that you shouldn't watch the recap video below if you plan to play Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
Also of note today is the release of some new screenshots for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Included is a look at Kalm, the summon Kujata, some combat abilities of various party members, and more.
Active and Classic modes return from FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE, allowing players to choose their battle style: fast-paced thrills or more methodical decision-making. Three difficulty settings, including Easy, Normal and the new Dynamic setting, allow further customization for players – both longtime fans and newcomers alike.
A new, standalone adventure set across a vast and vibrant planet, FINAL FANTASY VII REBIRTH sees Cloud, Tifa, Barret, Aerith and Red XIII escape from the dystopian city of Midgar into the wide world beyond. To hunt down Sephiroth, a fallen hero and vengeful swordsman from Cloud’s past, these unlikely heroes join forces with new companions like the spirited ninja operative Yuffie and the wisecracking, feline-shaped robot Cait Sith. Last, but not least, we also get a little glimpse at the "Chocoboutique." From the looks of this, you will be able to equip various (cosmetic only?) gear items on your Chocobo mount.
