Not that it matters. The game is going to look great everywhere.
Forza Motorsport Xbox Showcase 2022

At the recent Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios announced a new Forza Motorsport game that is set to arrive spring 2023. It's a follow-up to 2017's Forza Motorsport 7 but seems to just be called Forza Motorsport without a number.

The reveal of this game looked damn impressive, without a doubt. The initial reveal kind of made people think that it was all captured on an Xbox Series X. As it turns out, all of the in-game footage came from the PC version of the game.

According to an update provided by Turn 10 just two days after this initial reveal, the showcased demo was captured in-game on PC. However, they have also tested on Xbox Series X "for the same visual quality output." It's not a huge deal, but some people will undoubtedly want to know about this.

Forza Motorsport is said to have every track built from the ground up for this new generation of hardware. Physics have been overhauled, there is a dynamic time of day, there is better car damage, and apparently real time ray tracing is able to be used while actually playing. This is a change from Forza Horizon 5 where ray tracing was only available in the Forza Vista mode.

The new trailer, seen below, showcases fan-favorite track Maple Valley. This track has been in the franchise since the first game in 2005. Other tracks showcased include Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and Laguna Seca Raceway. Also shown off is Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, a track that is making its Forza Motorsport debut along with the Grand Prix circuit.

Fundamental to Forza Motorsport is our fully dynamic time of day system, which brings tracks to life in stunning detail and like weather, it will be available on every track. Changes in time of day alter ambient temperatures, which, in turn, impacts the track surface temperatures. These track temperature changes will affect the grip of your car, as does rubbering in and weather. These new simulation details add further depth, drama, and dynamics to the racing experience.

We’ve completely overhauled the core driving experience to take advantage of the power of the Xbox Series consoles. This includes a 48 times improvement in the fidelity of our physics simulation. Based on your feedback, we’ve introduced new features like tire and fuel management, multiple tire compounds, and new in-depth car building to create the ultimate racing playset.(...)

Show Off Your Battle Damage

In Forza Motorsport, car damage is reproduced down to the individual scratches on the bodywork. There are all-new simulation details in the directionality of damage, how the paint peels away at exposed and raised edges, in the wheel abrasions, and in the dirt build-up. Car damage is a racing reality and has been authentically captured in the new Forza Motorsport.
