Bethesda announces that everyone can download and play The Elder Scrolls Online for free for about two weeks. This free trial includes access to the prologue of the upcoming High Isle event, which actually kicked off about 15 minutes ago at 4PM (ET).

This free play event runs from now through Tuesday, April 26 at 10AM (ET). This free period is open to those on PC, Mac, Xbox (Xbox Live Gold is required), PlayStation, and Stadia.

If you enjoy your free time with the game, there will be a sale going on at the same time so that you can purchase the game at a discount and continue after the free period ends. In addition, all new ESO accounts that are created will receive 500 crowns to spend at the in-game Crown Store.

The base game is up to 70% off and The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood is up to 67% off. There is also a sale going on for those who want to purchase Crown Packs, with discounts going up to 40% off of the regular price. The Crown Store offers a bunch of items such as cosmetics, pets, mounts, consumables, and more.

I can personally suggest that you should try out ESO if you haven't yet already. It's kind of my "go-to" MMO of choice when I need an MMO fix every so often. Most of the content can be played on your own if you desire and the game has come a long way since it's rather lackluster initial release in 2014.

If you’d like to join over 20 million players and explore Tamriel for free, visit the Free Play page and select your platform. This event will give you access to the ESO base game (including four classes, 23 story zones, Battlegrounds and Alliance War PvP, and more) and the Morrowind DLC (Vvardenfell zone).
