Hello Games is celebrating its fifth anniversary since the release of No Man's Sky. The open world universe space sim game was first released back on August 12, 2016 to some less than favorable opinions. Since then, the team at Hello Games has worked relentlessly to turn No Man's Sky into one of the best must-have games of all time.

A new post hit the PlayStation Blog today by Sean Murray. In the entry, Murray talks about the upcoming fifth anniversary of the game that has undergone so many updates and improvements since its release. He also shares a special fifth anniversary trailer for the game.

Murray also shares a little bit of a sneak peak at the upcoming Frontiers update coming to the game. This will be the next major (and free) update that will be released for No Man's Sky. We don't get a ton of details, but it's enough to whet our appetite.

And finally, as we push forward to 2021, our next update Frontiers is something I’m very excited about. In some ways it is just another update, but in other ways it’s a missing piece of the sci-fi fantasy that we’ve always wanted to add, and very fitting for our fifth anniversary.

There is still a lot we want to try, so much we are still excited for. The next step on that journey is not far off. We’ll have more to share on Frontiers with travelers very soon.
