Millions of fans are just devastated by this news.
Though originally slated to launch alongside Resident Evil 8, Resident Evil Re:Verse will instead now be pushed back to a Summer 2021 release. It was originally supposed to come out with Resident Evil Village on May 7.
Re:Verse is a planned six-player multiplayer deathmatch that pits characters from across the entire franchise against one another.
A recent beta for the game was apparently a technical mess across the board. There were matchmaking issues, so many in fact that Capcom had to suspend the test itself. For those looking for something beyond Village's story, I need only remind you that there will be an included Mercenaries mode that should keep you occupied for a while.
