If you like horror games but without the horror, you may want to go pick up Amnesia: Rebirth today. A new update for the PC version on Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store removes the threat of monsters.

The developers are calling this an "Adventure Mode" and, as you probably already surmised, this mode allows you to experience the game without any scares or the threat of darkness. Yes, it also removes all of the jump scares from the game. This essentially turns the game into a walking simulator, but for some people that's perfectly fine.

To go along with this new update comes a 40% discount on the game across all three platforms. The PlayStation version of the game will get the Adventure Mode in the "next few weeks."

A developer diary shows off just what you can expect in this new Adventure Mode.

What’s Adventure Mode?

Amnesia: Rebirth Adventure Mode is a new way to experience the fantastic quest of Tasi Trianon with its captivating narrative, cool environments, unique theme, and challenging puzzles, without the anxiety-inducing, and very distressing elements present in the original game.

“The game still has its very serious theme and sometimes unnerving ambiance, but the new mode feels a lot more like an Indiana Jones type of adventure in places where it would otherwise be more of a horror experience,” explains Fredrik Olsson.
