Did you know that the Xbox Series X|S were released today? It's true! My inbox has made me painfully aware that all of these Series X|S enhanced releases are now available, including Maneater from Tripwire Interactive. Not only is this shark eat shark eat man game now available for the Series X|S, but it's also been confirmed to be a million+ selling title from Tripwire.
Worry not PlayStation 5 hopeful owners, Maneater will be made available to you on the day in which the PS5 is officially released in your region. If that happens to be North America, you'll have to wait a whopping two more days.
What does the Series X bring to blood soaked waters of Maneater that wasn't there before? Well, there's 4K HDR at 60fps for one thing. For another there is soon to be real-time ray tracing that will be added in a post-release patch. PC owners will also get some ray tracing goodness in the first half of 2021. There will be more details on those ray tracing enhancements coming "in the near future."
Xbox One and PS4 owners of Maneater will get free full upgrades to the next-gen release of the game.
Maneater is a single player, open-world action-RPG (ShARkPG) where YOU are the shark. Starting as a small bull shark pup you are tasked with surviving the harsh world while eating your way up the ecosystem. To do this, you will explore a large and varied open world encountering diverse enemies -- both human and wildlife. Find the right resources and you can grow and evolve far beyond what nature intended, allowing the player to tailor the shark to their play style. This is fortunate, because to get revenge on the cruel fisherman that dismembered you will take evolving into a massive shark, an apex predator of legends. Eat. Explore. Evolve.
