Just a quick public service announcement for all of you who are quarantined. You are staying inside, right? You better be. If you are, you might be bored! That's why a bunch of places are offering up some free games during these trying times.
From today through April 17, 2020, you can add Assassin's Creed II Deluxe Edition to your Uplay account on the PC. It's free. Totally free. If you add it now, it's yours to keep forever and ever. Just be sure to add it before the 17th.
Sony is also offering up some free games. Starting tomorrow, the company begins their "Play at Home" initiative. To help everyone play games at home, they're giving away two great games for free. The first is Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and the second is Journey. I suppose if you want to be technical here, The Nathan Drake Collection is really a three game bundle on its own. The collection includes Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, and Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.
To get these PS4 games for free, add them to your account between April 15 at 8PM (PT) through May 5, 2020 at 8PM (PT). Once you "purchase" these free games, they are yours to keep forever and ever.
On the Epic Games Store, you can currently get Close to the Sun and Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishments for free. You can check out our review of Close to the Sun if interested.
Xbox players can add Crackdown, Crackdown 2, and Too Human to their accounts for free if you don't yet own those titles. These are not the games that are being offered with Games with Gold. These are just free games for whenever.
GOG.com has a number of free games available right now. A couple of examples include Shadow Warrior Classic Complete and Ultima IV: Quest fo the Avatar. With all these free games you can save up for a Lamborghini Egoista.
A lot of these have been free for a while, not to mention the "free" games available through things like Xbox Live Gold and PlayStation Plus. Those that have Amazon Prime with Twitch can get their usual free games as well. Looks like the Turok remaster is one of the freebies this month. There are also the free-to-play games that are out like Call of Duty: Warzone, Apex Legends, and the list just keeps going.
