EDF! EDF! EDF!
Earth Defense Force Iron Rain

Another new Earth Defense Force game is now available on Steam today. The game is Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain, a game that made its debut on the PlayStation 4 back in April of this year. You will once again engage in all-out war with plenty of giant alien bugs, but the gameplay loop in this one is a bit different than the norm.

Character customization is handled a bit differently in Iron Rain. You can now customize things like facial expressions, hair, body type, voice, clothing, and more. The game also introduces some new gear, technologies, and weapons, as any good sequel should.

The launch week will include a 20% off sale from the normal $59.99 (USD) price of the base game. The wide array of DLC that came out for the PS4 release is also here on the PC and includes a 10% discount for this release week. A bundle of DLC will have a 20% off sale. The DLC includes weapons, costume items, and mission packs.

The biggest change here for Iron Rain is the move to Unreal Engine 4. The game is still a fairly lengthy one like its predecessors with over 50 story missions. There are four different soldier classes with unique abilities. And of course, there is co-op multiplayer, this time for up to six players at a time. There is also a new PvPvE mode that finds two teams competing to collect Energy Gems.
