A new game based off of the original Turok comics from 1954.

A new Turok game is coming to Steam on July 25. It's called Turok: Escape from Lost Valley and you may have noticed that it looks quite a bit different than what you're used to. The previous Turok games were all first-person shooter games. This one is, well, not.

Turok: Escape from Lost Valley tells the story of Turok and his brother, Andar, being trapped in an area full of dinosaurs. Hunting still happens, but this time it all goes down in an isometric view, providing a bird's eye view of the adorable art style.

This game was actually one of the final six entries in the 2018 Universal GameDev Challenge that began at the Game Developers Conference. However, Turok: Escape from Lost Valley from Pillow Pig Games didn't win the contest. That honor goes to Voltron: Cubes of Olkarion, a strategy game from Gbanga that is also coming to Steam on July 25.

Turok: Escape from Lost Valley takes the series back to its 1954 roots when Turok was still just a comic book series. So no, it's not a sequel to the other Turok games and it probably shouldn't be viewed as such. It's a game that is based off of the same source material, the comics, that has a very different art style and gameplay than the games you probably remember. A good number of people are already busy showing their asses and throwing Gamerâ„¢ temper tantrums over this game, as expected.
