Fatshark, the development studio behind Warhammer: Vermintide 2 now has a new investor and it's none other than Tencent. That's right, the very same Tencent that seems to have their investment filled hands in what feels like everything, including Epic Games (40%) and Ubisoft (5%). They also have a majority ownership of Riot Games and Supercell. Of course, this is all just the tip of the iceberg for the tech giant.
According to the Swedish website DI Digital, Tencent paid around $56 million (SEK 500 million) in exchange for a 36% ownership stake in Fatshark. This places Tencent comfortably within the minority owner realm of Fatshark.
Fatshark CEO Martin Wahlund says that Fathsark will retain its independence and will not have "any major changes" made to their business.
