H1Z1 will soon split up into two separate games. Anybody who has played the game or seen the game probably already have some idea where this is headed.

First up is the survival game that will be called H1Z1: Just Survive. This is the open-world portion of the game that tasks you with facing off against zombies and just trying to survive with crafting and base building.

The second game will be called H1Z1: King of the Kill. As you may expect, this game includes the PvP style games such as the super popular Battle Royale mode.
H1Z1: Just Survive and H1Z1: King of the Kill will each have their own dedicated development resources. You can expect to get to know the newest additions to the teams as we continue our behind-the-scenes look with Dev Blogs, Livestreams, and more. They will also have separate social channels so it’ll be easier for you to keep track of the game you care most about.

Anyone who already owns H1Z1 will be granted both versions and will see it listed in your Steam games inventory on February 17th (the official day of the split). Additionally, existing crates, keys, and items will be duplicated across both games. As originally intended, Airdrop tickets will be useable in H1Z1: Just Survive and Event tickets will be usable in H1Z1: King of the Kill.

Daybreak notes that if you buy H1Z1 (the complete game) prior to February 16, you will get both H1Z1: Just Survive and H1Z1: King of the Kill when released. On February 17, both games will be available for $19.99 (USD) each. Keep in mind that during this Lunar New Year sale, H1Z1 can be yours for $14.99 (USD), which is about $25 less than the $40 the "complete package" will cost come February 17.
