We have all obviously heard of Twitch Plays Pokemon by now, right? But did you know that Pokemon Red could play Twitch? No, it's true! During the "tool-assisted speedrun" (TAS) section of Awesome Games Done Quick 2015, it was made clear that you can do pretty much anything with a bit of time and effort.

I don't know the exact technical details, but they managed to have Pokemon Red for the Super Game Boy execute a program created within its own memory that prints a live feed of the Twitch chat to a Super Nintendo. There's a fair bit about controller inputs and a lot of other crazy stuff, but that's the super basic gist of it. You should check out the full video below to have the full explanation given to you as it happens. If you just want to see the insanity begin, skip to around the 6 minute mark and keep watching.

You wanted more? Fair enough. How's about coding the entire first Super Mario Bros. inside Super Mario World using similar methods? Maybe skip to around the 7:30 mark in the below video if you don't want to see one failed attempt and some additional explanation.
