  • GOG Offering 30-Day Refund Policy

    Digital distribution has been less than ideal when it comes to getting a refund on games that either don't work well or don't deliver on promised features. GOG.com is looking to change things, at least for their own services, by introducing a 30-day refund policy.


    An FAQ explains the finer points of this new guarantee.
    How does it work?
    If, within 30 days after the purchase of your game, you experience technical problems or game-breaking bugs that prevent you from finishing your game, contact our customer support. They will do their best to help you fix the problem and if, at the end of their attempts to solve the problem your game is still not working, we'll give you back your money.

    This refund guarantee is available for every country that GOG.com services.

        For the longest time, if you wanted a refund from Sony for a purchase made through the PlayStation Store, you were either completely out of luck or were maybe given a one time exception. There were a few other times where Sony cracked open that refund door another inch, such as when games were severely broken to the point of crashing systems, but these were made once in a blue moon. Even then it wasn't a guarantee that you would be issued a refund if you requested one.

        EB Games Issuing Refunds to Upset Fallout 76 Customers in Australia

        C'mon, it's not that bad... now.

        An Australian government group, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC), says that EB Games has "undertaken to refund consumers after acknowledging they are likely to have misled consumers about their consumer guarantee rights in relation to faults with the online video game Fallout 76."

        If that sounds a bit like confusing jargon to you, you aren't alone. In short, it sounds like EB Games was not giving out...
