Call of Duty Shakeup - Call of Duty 2020 is Another Black Ops and Is Modern Warfare 4 Going Free-to-Play?

Reports include talk of arguments between Sledgehammer and Raven.

There are reported some massive changes happening behind the scenes of the Call of Duty franchise. According to a new report from Jason Schreier of Kotaku, Call of Duty 2020 is no longer being developed by Sledgehammer and Raven. It will instead be handled by Treyarch and it will be another entry in the Black Ops saga.

This is the first major change in the development cycle of the Call of Duty franchise since 2012. Since then, the Call of Duty games have cycled between three lead studios. Those studios...

Bungie Brings Back the Nerf Gun on Fan-Favorite Destiny 2 Weapons

Old Bungie is back.

Around the release of the Curse of Osiris update for Destiny 2, Bungie had vowed to take a drastically different approach to how they handle community favored weapons in the game. Old Bungie would have nerfed those weapons into the ground without a second thought.

But new Bungie? New Bungie said that they wanted to instead buff up other weapons to make them more attractive choices. This was a part of their "Go Fast Update" initiative. Specifically, here is what they said in all capital letters for some weird reason (via Game Rant).

The Epic Games Store just kicked off its own multi-week long sale today. This sale finds discounts of up to 75% off of some titles. It also includes discounts on pre-orders for games like John Wick Hex, Borderlands 3, or Control. Just to name a few.

The way this sale works is this: Some games that are already out are on sale for up to 75% off. Other games that don't have a percentage off will be at least $10 off if their regular price is $14.99 and higher. On top of this, there will be a free game given out...

Review: A Plague Tale: Innocence (PC)

Incredible from start to finish.

Every once in a while there comes a new game release that defies all expectations. A Plague Tale: Innocence is one such game. Thanks to a delicate balance of satisfying gameplay and an engaging story, A Plague Tale will sink its hooks into you right from its opening chapters. Though there are a couple of small missteps along the way, the journey you share with siblings Amicia and Hugo is one you really don't want to miss.

There are many more review "buzz words" I could use to describe A Plague Tale, but I will spare you from...

New Final Fantasy VII Remake Teaser

Just watch it.

A new teaser trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake was finally shown off today. It's the first one shown off in, I think, over a year. It's not much but maybe it'll be enough until we hear and see more this June. ...

  • Counter-Strike: Global Offensive Update Fixes Grenade Physics and Adds Live Spectator Mode - October 10, 2013

Tonight's update for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive addresses a few fairly significant issues. First up is a fix for how grenade physics interactions are handled when they hit players. The other is an improved bomb planting animation. In addition to these fixes, the CS:GO team added a Watch menu that lets you spectate live matches, similar to what is done with Dota 2!
GAMEPLAY - Improved grenade physics interaction with player models. Grenades bounce off player hitboxes instead of the overall player bounding volume. - Improved bomb-planting player animation to prevent unintentionally standing when the plant completes. (Thanks Friberg!). - Re-added support for alternate firing accuracy. This effectively buffs burst fire

European Half-Life 3 Trademark is Allegedly Fake

The news we recently had up (well, we did prior to the script kiddie shenanigans) about the trademark filing for Half-Life 3 is allegedly not true. Valvetime discovered that the trademark that was filed with the Trademarks and Design Registration Office of the European Union (OHIM) has been removed.

It was listed for only about a week before being removed. However, the weird thing now is that a listing for Portal 3 has gone up just two days ago on October 2. Granted, this filing should also be believed as much as the last filing was. It is, much like the Half-Life 3 filing, probably the work of people playing...

  • Valve Releases Details on Steam Machine Prototype Hardware

Valve Releases Details on Steam Machine Prototype Hardware

If you're one of the lucky 300 who will get to test drive the Steam Machine prototypes, Valve has just revealed what hardware you should expect to see.
So for our own first prototype Steam Machine ( the one we're shipping to 300 Steam users ), we've chosen to build something special. The prototype machine is a high-end, high-performance box, built out of off-the-shelf PC parts. It is also fully upgradable, allowing any user to swap out the GPU, hard drive, CPU, even the motherboard if you really want to. Apart from the custom enclosure, anyone can go and build exactly the same machine by shopping for components and assembling it themselves. And we expect that at least a few

  • Valve Files for Half-Life 3 Trademark as Private Tracker Reveals 46 Developers Assigned to Half-Life 3 Development

Earlier today, it was noticed by those at NeoGAF that Valve has indeed filed for a trademark on Half-Life 3.

In addition, a tool used by Valve to show which staff are assigned to which project was discovered as being public just about an hour ago. The tool showed that 46 developers are assigned to Half-Life 3 with 71 developers assigned to Left 4 Dead 3.
