More broadly, Microsoft is cutting 4,800 jobs.
Today, Microsoft is laying off 2.1% of its workforce. This equates to 4,800 people that are being let go. The company's XBOX division is cutting about 20% of its entire workforce. All of this is being done in an effort to cut costs due to rising prices and expenses brought about by artificial intelligence (AI).

Lord of Hatred Review: Diablo 4 Finally Finds Its Final Form
This is Diablo 4 at its best. I mean it this time. For real.
Returning to the world of Sanctuary for this latest chapter feels like a true homecoming for those of us who have spent hundreds of hours traversing its dark and unforgiving landscapes since the base game launched back in 2023. The release of the Lord of Hatred expansion marks a significant step forward in the narrative that was originally set in motion during the initial campaign and furthered by the events of the Vesse...

Valve is Accepting New Team Fortress 2 Merchandise Ideas from the Community
Similar to how Valve accepts and implements community creations within Team Fortress 2 itself, they will now do the same for physical TF2 merchandise ideas. Beginning today, you can now submit your awesome ideas for new (actual) hats, shirts, hoodies, and more.
For decades, humanity looked at the common baseball hat and just saw a thing you put on your head. It took a special kind of person to look at it and think, "I could attach beer cans to the sides of that thing so I'll have... -

Valve May Soon Add Film, TV Series, Video, and More to Steam Catalog
Yesterday, Steam Database discovered a few new additions that snuck their way into the latest Steam beta client update. Those additions seem to point towards some new media types that could be added to the Steam Store or your Steam catalog at some point in the near future.
If true, it will be very interesting to see what Valve will bring to the table. Will these offerings be solely for games and game related content or will they branch out to take on competitors such as Hul... -

Zombies Invading Counter-Strike Later this Year
A new Counter-Strike game is upon us, though it probably isn't the kind of Counter-Strike you wanted (or maybe it is, who knows). Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies will be coming to Steam later this year from Nexon. It will be free-to-play.
Counter-Strike Nexon: Zombies is developed based upon Valve’s legendary online action game, Counter-Strike (CS). Expanding upon one of the top first-person shooter (FPS) titles in the world, Nexon teamed up with Valve to unleash a new zombie-themed,... -

Valve May Have Quietly Soft Launched Source 2 Last Night
Last night, Valve released the Dota 2 Workshop Tools alpha. Included was a new version of the Hammer editor, something modders haven't seen in ages.
That's all well and good, but what wasn't apparent is that included in the tools are numerous references to Source Engine 2, or Source 2 for short. In addition to this, the additional ~5.5GB of Dota 2 that you need to download in addition to the new tools? It's running on Source 2.

Counter-Strike's Chickens are Super Deadly
In an effort to bring you stupid news stories (because that's what the kids like), here is a video of how a chicken ruined the virtual life of Mr.JeanJeans in a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive match.
Thanks chicken to be part of CS:GO
I'd like to thanks particulary this chicken who litterally killed my competitive game because I laughed so hard after this.
Guy, this chicken literally killed his competitive game. Vicious.... -

The International Dota 2 Championship - NewBee vs ViCi Grand Final Starts Now
This is it. Today, in just a few moments, the Grand Finals kick off for The International Dota 2 Championship. The winner of over $5 million will be determined by the best of five matches. Three wins are all that separates, glory from defeat, a trophy from tears, $5 million from a crappy $1.47 million second place prize. NewBee fought back early to not only secure a spot in the Upper Bracket, but they also sent both Vici and Evil Geniuses back down to the Lower Bracket in the earl... -

Was 2025 a big year for game completions for you, or were you more of a "stick to one never-ending, live-service game for the entire year" sort of player?
