Call of Duty Shakeup - Call of Duty 2020 is Another Black Ops and Is Modern Warfare 4 Going Free-to-Play?

Reports include talk of arguments between Sledgehammer and Raven.

There are reported some massive changes happening behind the scenes of the Call of Duty franchise. According to a new report from Jason Schreier of Kotaku, Call of Duty 2020 is no longer being developed by Sledgehammer and Raven. It will instead be handled by Treyarch and it will be another entry in the Black Ops saga.

This is the first major change in the development cycle of the Call of Duty franchise since 2012. Since then, the Call of Duty games have cycled between three lead studios. Those studios...

Bungie Brings Back the Nerf Gun on Fan-Favorite Destiny 2 Weapons

Old Bungie is back.

Around the release of the Curse of Osiris update for Destiny 2, Bungie had vowed to take a drastically different approach to how they handle community favored weapons in the game. Old Bungie would have nerfed those weapons into the ground without a second thought.

But new Bungie? New Bungie said that they wanted to instead buff up other weapons to make them more attractive choices. This was a part of their "Go Fast Update" initiative. Specifically, here is what they said in all capital letters for some weird reason (via Game Rant).

The Epic Games Store just kicked off its own multi-week long sale today. This sale finds discounts of up to 75% off of some titles. It also includes discounts on pre-orders for games like John Wick Hex, Borderlands 3, or Control. Just to name a few.

The way this sale works is this: Some games that are already out are on sale for up to 75% off. Other games that don't have a percentage off will be at least $10 off if their regular price is $14.99 and higher. On top of this, there will be a free game given out...

Review: A Plague Tale: Innocence (PC)

Incredible from start to finish.

Every once in a while there comes a new game release that defies all expectations. A Plague Tale: Innocence is one such game. Thanks to a delicate balance of satisfying gameplay and an engaging story, A Plague Tale will sink its hooks into you right from its opening chapters. Though there are a couple of small missteps along the way, the journey you share with siblings Amicia and Hugo is one you really don't want to miss.

There are many more review "buzz words" I could use to describe A Plague Tale, but I will spare you from...

New Final Fantasy VII Remake Teaser

Just watch it.

A new teaser trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake was finally shown off today. It's the first one shown off in, I think, over a year. It's not much but maybe it'll be enough until we hear and see more this June. ...

  • Counter-Strike is Now Free-to-Play, Adds Battle Royale Mode

Counter-Strike is Now Free-to-Play, Adds Battle Royale Mode

Valve just rolled out one of the biggest updates for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. It may not be the largest in terms of file size, but in terms of scope? Yeah, it's pretty big for a game like Counter-Strike. "What could it possibly be," you wonder?

    It's battle royale.

Of course it's battle royale. This mode has been rumored for a while and now it's finally here. The new mode is called "Danger Zone" and along with this new mode comes some additional surprising news. Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is now a free-to-play game. In addition, everyone that owned the game before today's move to being a F2P title have been granted Prime Status from Valve. Given that Prime Status was being used as a tool to play in an environment relatively free from cheaters and smurfs, your gameplay experiences over the next few weeks may suck until VAC d...

Bethesda Issues Meager Compensation in Response to Nylon Bag Controversy

Yesterday, we brought you the story about how Bethesda pulled a bait-and-switch on consumers that purchased the $200 Power Armor Edition of Fallout 76. Today, we have a bit of an update on the story to share with you. Bethesda noticed that there were suddenly a lot of eyes on them after multiple media outlets picked up the story, and in response they decided to try to make things right.

Bethesda, by way of the official Fallout Twitter account, announced a bit of compensation late last night. While you may be stuck with a cheap nylon bag instead of the canvas bag you were promised, you at least get...

Fallout 76's $200 Edition Promised Canvas Bag is a Real Stinker

The $200 Power Armor Edition of Fallout 76 promised to include a "Canvas West Tek Duffel Bag" in addition to some other neat gear like a wearable Power Armor helmet, map, and more. The problem is that consumers that spent the $200 for this Power Armor Edition ended up getting little more than a trash bag instead of the fancy canvas one they were promised.

What fans actually received for their monetary show of support was a cheap nylon bag. This is, obviously, not the one that was advertised....

First Developer Diary for The Dark Pictures - Man of Medan

The first developer diary video for The Dark Pictures - Man of Medan was released today from Supermassive Games. You may already be familiar with Supermassive Games as they previously released the fantastic Until Dawn a few years back. However, it sure can't hurt to get their insight on their upcoming horror anthology.

The Dark Pictures - Man of Medan is looking at a 2019 release for the PS4, XB1, and PC via Steam.
The first Dev Diary showcases the creation of the menacing abandoned vessel that serves as the setting of Man of Medan. The developers describe how they formed the claustrophobic and foreboding atmosphere of the ship

  • Artifact is Out Now from Valve

Artifact is Out Now from Valve

Valve has released a new game. I hope you were sitting down for that one because that sentence probably knocked you on your ass and tea bagged you.

Valve's Artifact has been released on Steam for $19.99 (USD). It's a card battling game based around Dota 2 characters, locations, and abilities. It was created alongside the famous designer Richard Garfield, so it has a high chance of being pretty damn good.

We have a new trailer to show off with you today. In addition, there is another comic that you can read. This one is called "Call to Arms." Call to Arms also happens to be the name of the game's first set.
The trailer gives a taste of the

  • Valve Released an Artifact Comic

    Valve Released an Artifact Comic

Just two days ahead of the release of Artifact, Valve did what Valve does best and released a new comic. It's called "Prelude" and it serves as a prelude to their upcoming card battling game.

A second comic called "Call to Arms" will drop on Wednesday. These comics "sets the stage for a series of events that will transform the world of Dota forever."

So, are they changing the base Dota game as a result? Because if not, that seems like a kind of silly thing to say about Artifact, no? Anyway, go read today's comic, Prelude, at the Artifact website....

  • Black Mesa: Xen Trailer Revealed, Release Almost a Year Away

Black Mesa: Xen Trailer Revealed, Release Almost a Year Away

The Black Mesa team finally released a trailer for the Xen portion of their long in-development game. As you may recall, Black Mesa was "released" in a rather incomplete stage. I say "released" because even though it was added to Steam back in May 2015, it's still listed as an "Early Access" title. I also say "released" because the entire Xen portion from the original Half-Life wasn't included.

But it's now 2018 and we finally have our first actual trailer for the Xen component. The good news is that the developers say Xen alone will be a roughly six hour long experience. The bad news, and you should have seen this one coming,...

    Dota 2 Updated to 7.20

At long last, the waking nightmare is over for Dota 2 fans. They can rest easy now because the 7.20 update is now live for the game. The changelog is long and the item changes are numerous.

I'm not even going to repost the changelog here, that's just how long it is.

You Dota fans go have fun now. From what I gather, this update has been a bit of a wait for you....

    Artifact Beta is Now Live

Valve just passed along word that the beta for their card battling game, Artifact, is now live. Artifact is brought to us from designer Richard Garfield and Valve. Garfield is the creator of a little CCG called Magic: The Gathering. Perhaps you've heard of it?

The Artifact beta is available to those that were given beta keys. Beta keys were given out at various events including at The International 2018 and one of the PAX events.

Valve says that the beta includes all modes of play for the game. The full game is slated to be released on November 28 for the PC, Mac, and Linux....
