It's that time of year again. The time of the year where snow... Well, snow should be falling but global warming would rather give us unseasonably high temperatures. It's also the time of year where gifts are given and exchanged in a ritual ceremony known as Christmas. Yep, it's the holiday season again and that means it's time for the big Steam Winter Sale.

Valve says that there are over 50,000 games and pieces of content available for sale from now through to January 5, 2022 at 10AM (PT). There are also some free stickers available to everyone through the Steam Points Shop. You can get a little free item every two days, so be sure to check on that every so often.

In related news, voting for The Steam Awards is now open! You can vote on your favorite games across a variety of categories. These games were selected from the top fan choices made at the end of November. Perhaps some of the games you picked are among the finalists.

You have until January 3, 2022 at 9AM (PT) to vote for your picks in each category. Each vote you cast will earn you a random card from this year's set of Winter Sale Trading Cards. Winners will be revealed on January 3, 2022 at 10AM (PT).

As far as the sale is concerned, let's take a look at some of the front-page deals that I currently see offered.

I see that The Elder Scrolls Online is just $5.99 (USD) right now. That's a great MMO and there is no required monthly fee. Horizon Zero Dawn is just $25. Oh, look at that, Battlefield 2042 is on sale again for 34% off. This is now the third time Battlefield 2042 has been on sale since its release a month ago. The fantastic survival game Project Zomboid is just a little over $10 right now. Though in Early Access it's a lot of fun, plus they just added in multiplayer. Ori and the Will of the Wisps is going for under $10, which is a steal. Game of the Year winner at The Game Awards, It Takes Two, is 50% off bringing it down to $20. Keep in mind that it also comes with a free Friend Pass, meaning that only one person needs to purchase the game. Equally amazing game and winner of Best Narrative, Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, is just $39 right now.
