More broadly, Microsoft is cutting 4,800 jobs.

Today, Microsoft is laying off 2.1% of its workforce. This equates to 4,800 people that are being let go. The company's XBOX division is cutting about 20% of its entire workforce. All of this is being done in an effort to cut costs due to rising prices and expenses brought about by artificial intelligence (AI).

As a quick reminder: Microsoft plans to spend $190 billion on AI in 2026. In 2025, the company spent $80 billion...

Digital only after January 2028.

Starting January 2028, Sony will no longer produce physical discs for new PlayStation game releases. All games released in January 2028 and after will be available only through digital stores such as the PlayStation Store.

Sony attempts to justify this move by claiming it's a "natural direction" in order to "adapt to consumer trends as the general preference for digital media significantly outpaces physical discs."...

Lord of Hatred Review: Diablo 4 Finally Finds Its Final Form

This is Diablo 4 at its best. I mean it this time. For real.

Returning to the world of Sanctuary for this latest chapter feels like a true homecoming for those of us who have spent hundreds of hours traversing its dark and unforgiving landscapes since the base game launched back in 2023. The release of the Lord of Hatred expansion marks a significant step forward in the narrative that was originally set in motion during the initial campaign and furthered by the events of the Vesse...

Terminal Velocity Gets a New Lease on Life

Time to party like it's 1995.

Now, a whole new generation of students can play Terminal Velocity on school computers. This is all thanks to Ziggurat Interactive that are readying the release of Terminal Velocity: Boosted Edition. This...

The Day Before Delayed Again for Another Dubious Reason

Just another excuse from developer Fntastic.

The Day Before is (allegedly) an upcoming Unreal Engine 5 powered open-world zombie survival MMO. It's (allegedly) in development by Fntastic, a studio with a less than stellar reputation. Still, The Day Before ended up becoming one of Steam's most wanted titles for a while after its initial reveal and the small handful of subsequent media releases.

The Day Before has already been delayed at least once, with the reason being...

It looks like The Last of Us HBO series is pulling in quite the crowd. We already know that the debut episode did exceptionally well for the network, but there was another added boon. Sales of The Last of Us Part 1 and The Last of Us: Remastered are up 322% in the UK.

    Critical Consensus: Forspoken

I'm somewhere that's not what I would call Earth, I'm seeing freakin' dragons, and oh yeah I'm in a kind of bad game.

The reviews for Forspoken started to come out today and wow, they are not good. They aren't exactly terrible, but for a game that has been sitting in the spotlight for so long, the scores this game is receiving cannot be what Square Enix was hoping for. Forspoken sits at a 69% average on OpenCritic, and what critics have been saying are not painting a very pretty picture...

  • Season 02 of Modern Warfare 2 to Include Hardcore Mode and Several Warzone Changes

New details on the second season came out over the weekend.

Infinity Ward says that a Hardcore game mode is coming to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 when Season 02 drops on February 15. They didn't say much about the Hardcore mode outside of there being no in-game HUD. Hardcore also typically enables friendly fire and lowers the time to kill (TTK), but those features have yet to be confirmed for this particular Hardcore mode.

When it comes to the DMZ, we know that there...

  • How Many Games Did You Complete in 2025?
    by Shawn Zipay
Make up your own definition of "complete."

Was 2025 a big year for game completions for you, or were you more of a "stick to one never-ending, live-service game for the entire year" sort of player?

For this, you can take whatever definition you want as a game "completion." Beat the main story? Earned 100% of the game's achievements? Or simply played enough that you're satisfied with what you accomplished and have no plans to return any time...
