Microsoft Cancelled a PlayStation 5 Version of Redfall

Arkane's Harvey Smith says a planned PS5 version was scrapped following Microsoft's acquisition of Bethesda.

Redfall is an upcoming cooperative FPS that will have you and up to three additional friends roaming the town of Redfall slaying vampires. Redfall was announced as being exclusive for PC and Xbox platforms, which does make a lot of sense seeing as how the developer, Arkane, is owned by Bethesda and Bethesda is owned by Microsoft.

In an interview with IGN France,...

    Redfall Story Trailer

There's more to Redfall than simply slaying vampires.

If you thought that Redfall, the upcoming action title from Arkane Austin was purely about slaying vampires, you would be mistaken. Sure, there is a lot of that vampire slaying going on but there's also something a little extra going on. A little something that studios like to call "a story."

The latest trailer for Redfall shares with us information about the game's plot. That plot that seems to involve a...

Redfall Requires a Persistent Online Connection Even in Single Player

People on the Internet are going nuts.

Redfall will require an always-online connection to the Internet even if you are playing through the open-world, vampire slaying game on your own. This revelation, and more, were shared through a new Redfall FAQ that flatly states, "a persistent online connection is required for single player and co-op."

Not only is this persistent online connection necessary, but players will also have to need to link to their Steam or...

Games to Look Forward to in 2023

I won't lie. I fully expected there to be far more news to post today (January 2, 2023) given that it's the start of the week and the holidays are "technically" over. What I failed to realize is that a ton of people are still off work due to the New Year falling on a Sunday. Thus, here I am opting to do a little write-up about what games I'm looking forward to in 2023 instead of sitting around doing nothing. Who knows, maybe you're looking forward to these games as well. If I missed some games ...

Microsoft to Increases Prices of First-Party Games to $70 in 2023

Microsoft was one of the last of the major hold-outs.

Microsoft says that the price of first-party titles released in 2023 will move from $60 to $70 (USD). This is specifically for games built for the Xbox Series X|S and includes titles such as Starfield, Redfall, and the upcoming Forza Motorsport. Microsoft is one of the last of the major studios to hold off on raising the prices of their first-party titles to $70. Sony started pushing the new $70 norm about two years ago. Other studios...

    Official QuakeCon 2022 Schedule Announced

A lot of Bethesda games will be shown off, except Starfield.

Bethesda just shared their QuakeCon 2022 schedule with everyone today. There will be some Quake Pro League action, a lot of developer presentations, and plenty of Bethesda-related games shown off during the event. Before you get your hopes up too high, it seems like there won't be any Starfield presentations at QuakeCon this year.

Maybe we'll finally get a new Quake game announced that has been rumored to be...

Arkane Offers a More Focused Look at Redfall

Another video to again try to make sense of just what Redfall is and is not.

Earlier in June, Arkane showed off some new Redfall gameplay footage during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase event. It seems as though the marketing for the game hasn't yet clearly conveyed to players what exactly the game is all about.

For instance, despite all prior marketing talking about Redfall's co-op experience, we learned that only the host of a game will make progress in the campaign....

Redfall Campaign Progress is Limited Only to Host in Co-op

Why? Why is this still a thing for co-op focused games in 2022?

Redfall is an upcoming vampire slaying game that is still in development at Arkane Austin. In the few times that it has been shown off, an emphasis has been placed on the cooperative experience. It was initially shown off with a trailer that was very much like, "this is a co-op game through and through!"

Just this past week, we were finally shown some gameplay of Redfall that, you guessed it, emphasized...

Redfall Gameplay is Full of Vampires

Redfall is the open-world vampire hunting co-op title from Arkane.

Arkane Austin showed up to the recent Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase in a big way this past weekend. The studio shared the first look at gameplay for Redfall, the studio's open-world, co-op FPS where you team up to hunt down powerful vampires.

While Redfall is often compared to games like Left 4 Dead, Arkane wants us to know that their game is very much not like Left 4 Dead. In an interview with Ga...

Starfield and Redfall Delayed Until 2023

    This is not completely unexpected.

Bethesda took to Twitter today to announce that both Starfield and Redfall have been delayed. The games will no longer launch within 2022 and are now expected to be released in the first half of 2023.

Redfall is the open-world, vampire-slaying, co-op game that is in development at Arkane Austin. We really haven't seen much about the game since it made its debut at E3 2021, even though it was supposed to be out some time this Summer....
