Despite doing it just last year with the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, this year's release of Black Ops 6 will not offer early access to the campaign. At a time where so many games are offering early access if you buy the deluxe editions, it's rather noteworthy when such a high-profile release does an about-face.

Activision, in speaking to CharlieIntel, say that their studios are working hard on getting the game ready for its release on October 25, 2024. Instead of offering a week of early access to the campaign, as they did with Modern Warfare 3, all modes for Black Ops 6 will be available at the same time on October 25, 2024.

Part of me sees this as a good and almost commendable move. The early access to games really shouldn't be a thing, so it's refreshing to see a game not offer it as an incentive to push more expensive versions of a game. The other part of me feels like maybe Activision isn't fully confident in the Black Ops 6 campaign. Last year's Modern Warfare 3 campaign was absolutely panned by critics and fans alike, which no doubt put a lot of people off from buying the game.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will also be the first Call of Duty title to release on Game Pass on the same date that the game launches on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.
