Is the removal of microtransactions one of those? That'd be pretty groundbreaking for them.

As part of their first quarter financial results, Activision said that Call of Duty: Warzone 2 will feature "groundbreaking innovations" when it is revealed later this year.

Activision says that development on the follow-up to their still popular battle royale, Call of Duty: Warzone, is "proceeding very well." They note that Warzone 2 will still be free-to-play and is being "built from the ground-up alongside the premium game."

An actual release date for Call of Duty: Warzone 2 was not yet announced by the company. They did say that fans will start to hear more about it soon though.

Warzone 2, announced back in February, will be built on a "new" engine and will include an "all-new playspace and new sandbox mode." Let's just hope that this entirely new release cuts the install size down significantly.

For those who just cannot wait for Warzone 2 to drop, the current Warzone has a pretty ridiculous Godzilla vs. Kong event going on right now.
