Ubisoft Pulls Licenses for The Crew, Makes the Game Completely Inaccessible to Buyers

From the same company trying to sell you a $130 version of Star Wars Outlaws.

From announcing a $130 edition of Star Wars Outlaws to pulling game licenses from those that bought The Crew, Ubisoft sure is on a roll this week.

The Crew was Ubisoft's open-world racing game that was pulled from sale back in December 2023. As of March 31, 2024, Ubisoft shut down the online servers for The Crew. This effectively made the game unplayable across all platforms, including: PC,...

Tim Sweeney Called Valve 'Assholes' in Email to Gabe Newell, Valve COO Says 'You Mad Bro?'

Tim Sweeney is always mad.

The antitrust lawsuit against Valve from Wolfire Games got a little spicy this week. To quickly get you up to speed: Wolfire claims that Valve uses its position with Steam to control game prices and muscle out competition. Though the initial lawsuit against Valve was dismissed, Wolfire amended their suit in May 2022 and the legal battle was back on.

It may have taken almost two years, but we are now starting to see some of the documents that...

No, Starfield and Indiana Jones are not going multi-platform any time soon.

During today's pre-recorded podcast and subsequent blog post, head of Xbox Phil Spencer stated that four Xbox exclusives are going to be multi-platform releases. Is it Starfield? Indiana Jones? • Battlefield 1 Easter Egg Leads to EA Website Suggesting a May 23 Battlefield Reveal

There has been a long-running mystery still remaining in Battlefield 1. There was a door that came to be known as the "Zombie Door" in Fort Vaux. The door remained locked though you could hear mysterious noises behind it. It took over a year, but players have managed to open up the door using a series of nine switches scattered around the map. When done in a specific order, these switches spelled out "Isolement," the French word for "Isolation." Once opened, the door leads to a small ...

Battlefield V Might Also Have a Battle Royale Mode

It seems as though Call of Duty: Black Ops IIII isn't the only big AAA FPS to possibly include a battle royale mode. No sir, it looks like Battlefield V may also go that route. I am incredibly unsurprised that EA would have DICE jump onto the battle royale bandwagon right now.

The latest rumor comes to us from VentureBeat. Their source is "someone with knowledge of the studio who asked to remain anonymous."
So the battle royale gold rush is on, and DICE is investigating

  • Rumor: Next Battlefield Game is Called Battlefield V, Returning to World War II Setting

GamesBeat managed to get some new information on the upcoming 2018 Battlefield title. Their anonymous sources even provided what looks to be a heavily redacted sceenshot showing off the title screen. As you can see above, the next game will supposedly be called Battlefield V. Originally, the next Battlefield game was internally called "Battlefield 2." This has since been changed to what we see here. According to their sources, Battlefield V will take the franchise back to World War II, a...

  • EA Forces Revive Network to Stop Distributing Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, and Battlefield Heroes Game Clients

Back in 2014, GameSpy shut down their online services for good. This affected far more games than you may have realized, including Battlefield 2, Battlefield 2142, and Battlefield Heroes. Without GameSpy, these games didn't have an easy way for anybody to play online. That's kind of a problem for games that are literally multiplayer only affairs. Since then, some user created mods popped up that aimed to replace the now defunct GameSpy. One of these mods was called Revive Network. Re...
