Yesterday, Battlefield 6 was updated with the next major content update for Season 2. This new update introduces Nightfall, a new limited-time mode. It also adds the Hagental Base map, new weapons, and the dirt bike vehicle.
The limited-time mode turns out the lights on Hagental. Players will have to navigate its dark corridors using flashlights and Night Vision Goggles. While there are a couple of rooms in the map where the lights are still on, most of the rooms and corridors are basically pitch black, making for plenty of opportunities for sneaky surprise attacks. Also, if you use the flashlight on someone wearing the Night Vision Goggles, their view is effectively obstructed.
There is a dedicated playlist for this lights out version of Hagental available to players. It's certainly a great modifier and I only wish it was done to more maps. In fact, I wish all of these limited-time modes had their effects applied to more than just one map, but alas.
The new weapons include the CZ3A1 SMG and the VZ 61 sidearm.
There is also a Nightfall Bonus Path available that includes both Free Tiers and additional Tiers for those who own the Season 2 Battle Pass. This pass includes the usual assortment of cosmetic items and some XP boosts. Also included is the Twilight Sortie weapon package for the KORD 6P67 (SIX SEVEN?!) Assault Rifle. The last unlock in that pass will get you the CZ3A1 SMG.
Perhaps the biggest news for those who don't yet own Battlefield 6 is the fact that there is now a Battlefield 6 free trial available! This free trial week began yesterday and will end on March 24 at 5 AM PT. This trial includes access to four maps across three different game modes.
Naturally, all progress made by those testing out the free trial will carry over to the full game should any of you decide to purchase Battlefield 6.
