Battlefield 6 fans are calling out Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios over what appears to be the use of generative AI for an in game store asset. Within the Windchill cosmetic pack for Battlefield 6 is a cosmetic sticker item that appears to depict an M4A1 with two barrels.
The Windchill pack for Battlefield 6 costs 900 Battlefield Coins (roughly $9 USD) and includes six items. One of those items is the "Winter Warning" player card sticker. It's shaped like a snowflake and includes an image of a soldier taking aim with their supposed M4A1. As fans on Reddit kindly pointed out, the weapon shows two barrels when there should rightfully only be one barrel.
As one of the comments in the Reddit thread points out, it appears as though the image somehow combines two weapons into one, which would explain the appearance of the double-barreled M4A1. There were some other potential issues with the image that were pointed out. These other issues include general hand and finger positioning, poor alignment of the scope, and how the "snow" on top of the scope looks more like fur than ice or snow.
This pivot to obvious generative AI usage probably shouldn't come as too big of a shock. In October 2025, Electronic Arts announced that they were partnering with Stable Fusion creator Stability AI. This partnership with Stability AI was announced just a few weeks after Electronic Arts was acquired by several controversial investors for $55 billion. Previously, general manager at DICE Rebecka Coutaz stated that while generative AI is "very seducing" they had no plans to integrate it into their daily work. Either that statement is no longer be true, or other studios under the Battlefield Studios umbrella do not share that sentiment.
So far, this is just one instance of potential AI use showing up in Battlefield 6. While still supremely terrible, is still a far cry from the amount of generative AI used in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
