The Pacific Theater begins in one week.
Battlefield V - War in the Pacific

DICE and EA revealed plenty of fresh information today for the fifth upcoming chapter for Battlefield V. The War in the Pacific chapter of Battlefield 5 launches on October 31 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. With it will come two new maps, two new factions, new weapons, new vehicles, new Elites, and new chapter rewards.

Before we get into that, let us first let you know about two free weekends coming up for the game. This weekend, starting October 24, you can try out the game's Grand Operations. Then from November 1-4 you can play all multiplayer modes and the new Pacific focused content. These trials are available for all platforms: PC via Origin, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.

As far as the Pacific is concerned, the action begins on October 31. You will get to play as the U.S. Armed Forces and the Imperial Japanese Army. Along with these new factions, there will be two new maps to play one with another deploying in December.

The first two maps to hit on October 31 are Iwo Jima and Pacific Storm.

Iwo Jima
The U.S. is attacking Iwo Jima on all fronts, and in this beachlanding mayhem you’ll be engaged in a fight over the thinner part of the island. It’s an all or nothing clash across wide-open black beaches and close-range environments like the tunnels of the mighty Mount Suribachi, inviting you to an iconic king-of-the-hill battle. Landing boats, aircraft, and tanks are plentiful, and each can sway the match in their own way. Push the enemy towards the final objective or hold back the onslaught on this highly dynamic map.

Pacific Storm
The weather is as treacherous as your foes on this set of islands where a game-changing storm may roll in, reducing your sightlines and evolving the battle. Move between islands with your squad and secure the control points using boats, amphibious tanks, or aircraft. As you attack or defend across land, air, and sea – stay on your toes! You never know what’s around the next ridge. Fans of Battlefield™ 4 will see shades of the classic map Paracel Storm in the world of possibilities offered through Pacific Storm’s layout.
And then the one most fans have been waiting for. In December, Wake Island will be released.

Wake Island
Arguably the most legendary map since the dawn of Battlefield, Wake Island arrives to Battlefield V in reimagined form in December. The map’s iconic, horseshoe-shaped layout ensures dynamic changes to where the action will be – though the Airfield and other areas granting vehicle access are sure to be constant focal points. Keep on the move to win the battle. Use Fortifications to create chokepoints and lure enemy forces into kill boxes. Do everything it takes in this war-ridden tropical setting to conquer the island, the skies, and the waves.
Some of the new weapons coming in Chapter 5 include the M1 Garand, Type 99 Arisaka, Type 100, and the M1919A6. As the chapter continues, other weapons added will include the M3 Grease Gun, Nambu Type 2A, Type 97 LMG, and the M1918A2. In addition, chapter rewards will include the Jungle Carbine, Type 94, and the Model 27 sidearms. The Assault class will also get the Lunge Mine to take down the tanks.

Speaking of tanks, the Pacific content includes new vehicles like the M4 Sherman, a medium tank for the U.S. side. The Japanese army get the Type 97. Other new vehicles include the LVT and Ka-Mi Light Amphibious Tanks. You can also just take a Dinghy to travel the seas. On land, you can make use of the MB Jeep or the Type 95. In the air, the U.S. will get the F4U Corsair in both Fighter and Bomber variants. On the flip side will be the Japanese Zero Fighter in the same variants.

Returning from Battlefield 1 are Battle Pickups. These are special pieces of gear that you can find not in a loadout but out on the field of battle itself. The new Battle Pickups for Battlefield V are the M2 Flamethrower and a katana.

There will also be two new Elites that you can purchase, new chapter rewards, and new weekly challenges as per the usual for these releases. A new trailer was also released today giving you a little look at the upcoming War in the Pacific.
