As 2026 continues to stumble along, it's looking more and more likely that Grand Theft Auto 6 will actually be released on November 19, 2026. Well, released only on PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X|S. Still, Grand Theft Auto 6 will be a huge game. Some are already calling it their game of the year, others claiming it will be game of the decade. Still others are claiming it to be the second coming of Christ.
It is a game that makes publishers afraid to release their own games near it. The latest to adjust their release date is Fable from Playground Games. The reboot of the popular fantasy RPG has moved from a planned fall 2026 release to a February 2027 release. A specific date within February has not yet been set for Fable.
The announcement comes from a recent XBOX post on Twitter. In the announcement, XBOX also notes that other games of theirs are still on track to be released before the end of the year. Those first-party games still expected to release in 2026 include Halo: Campaign Evolved, Gears of War: E-Day, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. XBOX also went on to mention some third-party games coming out around the same time such as Control Resonant, Star Wars: Galactic Racer, and of course, Grand Theft Auto 6.
XBOX says that they want to move Fable 2027 into February 2027 "so it can have the dedicated moment it deserves." More on Fable and other XBOX titles will be shared during the upcoming XBOX Games Showcase on June 7.
