Focus Entertainment and Douze Dixièmes have released MIO: Memories in Orbit on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch and Switch 2, Steam, Epic, and Game Pass. It is also fully playable on Steam Deck.
In this new Metroidvania-like players will try to uncover secrets of a derelict spaceship, named Vessel, adrift in the void. You are MIO, "a nimble android awakening alone" within the maze-like depths of the Vessel. As MIO, you will explore corridors that have been overrun by dangerous vegetation and face off against malfunctioning machines.
As the case is with many games in this genre, there are plenty of powers to unlock, areas to explore, dangers to face, and secrets to discover.
MIO: Memories in Orbit's art style was inspired by "graphic novels, classic sci-fi, painting, anime, and comics." The game's soundtrack was made by Nicolas Gueguen and features 75 tracks that "blends ambient melodies, layered synths, and live-recorded choir voices to capture the haunting atmosphere of the Vessel." The soundtrack is already available through most major platforms.
MIO: Memories in Orbit retails for $19.99, but there is a special 10% launch discount for PC and Xbox. Switch owners of the game can get the Switch 2 version for free.
