The original Dying Light came out nearly 10 years ago now, but that sure hasn't stopped Techland from supporting the title in new and exciting ways. Today, Techland says that they are releasing a new update that will make significant improvements to Dying Light's audio and visuals. It's not a full on remaster but it looks like it's the next best thing.
On June 26, 2025, Techland will release something they're calling Dying Light: Retouched. This update will include visual improvements across the board, a remastered soundtrack, and more. This free update will be available to everyone that owns Dying Light on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
For the soundtrack, original Dying Light composer Paweł Blaszczak returned to remaster the audio. The entire soundtrack was re-recorded. In addition, a few additional tracks were added, updated and new ambient sounds were also added, and some hit reaction audio got remastered.
Visually, the studio made improvements to textures, lighting, and shadows. They showed off a few examples of these visual improvements, which you can see in the images included in this article.
Finally, Techland wants to again make it clear that these are just enhancements, not a full-on remaster.
