Plus, a major update is coming to Splatoon 3.
Nintendo just announced a new entry in the Splatoon franchise. Splatoon Raiders was announced as a Switch 2 exclusive and will be a spin-off title from the main series. This reveal came out of nowhere and was made first through the Nintendo Today! app.
Splatoon Raiders will have players going on an adventure with the Deep Cut trio to the Spirhalite Islands. You will play as an "expert mechanic with a mysterious background."
A release date was not shared yet by Nintendo, but they did say there will be more information revealed in the future.
Nintendo also announced a new update for Splatoon 3 today. This Splatoon 3update is coming out on June 12 and will update the game to version 10.0.0. It will add 30 new weapon kits for the Barazushi and Emberz brands. The Urchin Underpass stage from the original Splatoon will also return. This update will also make various performance and visual improvements for those playing on Switch 2.
The new Splatoon 3 update will also raise the Freshness caps for all weapons. There will also be some new Badges coming to the game. Series Weapon Power will be a new stat added for Anarchy Battle. This stat will show how effective a player is on a per weapon basis and is based on their win/loss ratio in battles. This stat will be used to match players with similar skill levels.
