During today's Xbox show, Microsoft and Asobo Studio showed off a new entry in the Plague Tale franchise. Set for release in 2026, Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will be a prequel to the two existing games and will be a spinoff as well. Resonance will be an original story that blends "combat, myth and fate with a brand-new take on the universe created by Asobo Studio."
You play as Sophia, the pirate smuggler that made her appearance in A Plague Tale: Requiem, the sequel to A Plague Tale: Innocence. In Resonance, a younger Sophia will be trying to uncover the secrets of her own past. Given some of the images and locations for the game, this Plague Tale title seems to lean hard into the idea of myths and mythology.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is out in 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Steam, and Game Pass.
