The comic book series, I Hate This Place, is being turned into an open-world survival horror title that uses an isometric viewpoint. It's in development from Broken Mirror Games in partnership with Skybound Entertainment. It's also part of the new horror label created under Bloober Team. I Hate This Place is aiming for a Q4 2025 release on PC via Steam and Epic, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
I Hate This Place was revealed during this past week's Future Games Show event. The game takes players into a supernatural world where the "rules of reality come undone."
The visual aesthetic aims to mimic the look of comic books from the 1980s. The game is inspired by the "Skybound's Eisner award-nominated" comic series of the same name that was created by writer Kyle Starks and artist Artyom Topilin, so they have plenty of inspiration to pull from for the game.
