If you can believe it, the original release of The Talos Principle happened back in 2014. Croteam's puzzle adventure won numerous awards and accolades over the past decade. The reception was so positive to the original release that a sequel, The Talos Principle 2, was developed and released in 2023.
Now, Croteam and publisher Devolver Digital are going back to remaster the original game. The Talos Principle: Reawakened is "a radically overhauled reawakening of their critically acclaimed, award-winning IGF grand prize-nominated, multimillion-selling puzzle game." The Talos Principle: Reawakened is aiming for a 2025 release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
This isn't just a simple graphical update either. The game has been rebuilt on Unreal Engine 5. There will be new quality-of-life features such as the ability to rewind gameplay. There is even some additional content by way of the Road to Gehenna expansion plus a brand-new chapter, In the Beginning, that "explores the origins of the Simulation."
For you would-be puzzle creators, there will also be a new puzzle editor included with the game. This will allow players to create their own puzzles and share them with the world.
