Rogue Company, a game that hasn't seen a major update since 2023, just pulled all Dr Disrespect content. The studio says that they will provide "full Rogue Buck refunds to any impacted account this week."
This update to Rogue Company comes just a week after Herschel "Guy" Beahm, better known as Dr Disrespect, freely admitted to the world that he sent inappropriate messages to a minor in 2017. The self-admission came just days after former Twitch staff publicly stated the reason Dr Disrespect was banned from Twitch back in 2020.
Beahm was partnered with Hi-Rez Studios and somehow ended up with his own character model and themed level in Rogue Company. The skin was sold for $20 in what is otherwise a free-to-play action shooter. All of the Dr Disrespect content has now been removed with Hi-Rez promising that those who bought the skin will be compensated with in-game currency.
Fans who bought said content aren't exactly thrilled that they aren't getting actual real monetary refunds for their purchase. Many would rather have the $20 they spent back in their pockets rather than have $20 worth of in-game currency for a game that has been largely abandoned by its creators. As it stands, Rogue Company only averages a few hundred players per month.
In the wake of Dr Disrespect's admission of guilt, several companies have cut ties with him. Midnight Society, the game studio he co-founded, terminated their relationship with Beahm. Monetization of his YouTube channel was suspended. Companies such as Turtle Beach, 2K, and the San Francisco 49ers have also cut all deals and ties with Beahm.
