Capcom revealed today that Akuma will be joining the roster of Street Fighter 6 later this spring. He will be one of the last fighters added within the game's first year of content and will be playable in Fighting Ground, World Tour, and Battle Hub.

Sadly, details about Akuma were pretty light with today's reveal. We were given a teaser trailer and not much else.

Akuma made his Street Fighter debut back in one of the Street Fighter 2 releases. He's been a franchise regular throughout the years and was often a guest character in other titles. Notably, Akuma has appeared in several of the Capcom vs. SNK and SNK vs. Capcom titles. He also appeared as a guest fighter in Tekken 7 and as a "spirit" in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Capcom did briefly mention that there will be announcements for Year 2 content and other upcoming Street Fighter focused events coming later on. We will also have more details on Akuma as his release nears this spring. Below the new Akuma trailer will be some fresh details about the upcoming Capcom Cup 11.
