The third season begins as the second comes to an end.

The third season for Diablo 4 begins on January 23 at 10AM (PT), hot on the heels of the conclusion of the game's still ongoing second season. The third season is called Season of the Construct and will find players facing off against ancient forces that are emerging from beneath the sands in Kehjistan.

Ancient technologies, created by Zoltun Kulle and Ayuzhan of Caldeum, have been taken over by the forces of evil and the demon Malphas. Auyzhan will take you through Vaults in an effort to stop Malphas and these deadly constructs.

Players will be aided in their seasonal journey by the Seneschal Companion, a magically powered robot companion that will either fight alongside with you or provide aid during encounters. You will be able to build up your Seneschal to suit your gameplay style thanks to Governing Stones and ability augmenting Tuning Stones. In total there are 12 Governing Stones and 27 Tuning Stones available to find in Vaults.

Vaults are a new type of dungeon in Season of Construct. They are full of elemental hazards and full of a new enemy type known as The Constructs. When you first enter a Vault you are granted Zoltun's Warding. This is a blessing that will grant you access to plenty of loot within each Vault. However, the stacks start to diminish every time you fall victim to one of the hazards within the Vaults. Keep the blessing intact through the boss and you can unlock a Wardwoven Chest, which has a higher chance of granting Legendary items.

Diablo 4's second season was pretty damn good, which was a nice change of pace following the very lackluster first season. Here's hoping this third season continues that upward swing.

Plenty more is expected in Season of the Construct. There is also a number of quality of life improvements coming alongside the launch of Season of the Construct. That includes improvements to Helltides, the ability to use WASD for character movement, an extra stash tab, and more.

Naturally, there is also a new seasonal Battle Pass with both free and paid reward tracks. Plus, there will be new cosmetics in the in-game store if that tickles your fancy.
