HBO just announced that Kaitlyn Dever will play Abby in the second season of HBO's The Last of Us series. She will join Bella Ramsey's Ellie and Pedro Pascal's Joel in the award-winning series. Abby will have a major role in season 2 and possibly beyond depending on how much of the plot is covered throughout the second season.

HBO describes Abby as a "skilled soldier whose black-and-white view of the world is challenge as she seeks vengeance for those she loved."

Dever previously had roles in Booksmart, No One Will Save You, Justified, Last Man Standing, and others. Interestingly, Dever also voiced Nathan Drake's daughter, Cassie, at the end of another Naughty Dog creation, Uncharted 4: A Thief's End.

HBO's The Last of Us recently took home eight awards during the 75th Creative Arts Emmy Awards. The show won for outstanding guest actress (Storm Reid), outstanding guest actor (Nick Offerman), outstanding special visual effects in a season or movie, outstanding prosthetic makeup, outstanding picture editing for a drama series, and outstanding sound editing for a comedy or drama series.

Here's hoping that Dever will not become the target of the really fucked up Last of Us "fanbase." A bunch of pathetic losers have already harassed and threatened Laura Bailey and Jocelyn Mettler, the voice actress and face model respectively for Abby in The Last of Us Part 2.

So-called "fans" of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 have also been harassing and stalking Stephanie Tyler Jones, the face model for Mary-Jane Watson in Insomniac's Spider-Man games. In the case of Jones, she says that so-called "fans" have been calling her workplace and leaving multiple voicemails, a situation that has made her feel "unsane and uncomfortable."

These people harassing actors, publishers, or developers over some perceived slight in a video game (or other form of fictional entertainment) are, for lack of a better term, extremely fucked up.
