New hardcore mode, new creature behaviors, and more.

A new and free update for Amnesia: The Bunker is here just in time for the scariest of holidays. This update introduces a number of new gameplay features that will entice even the most seasoned of Amnesia veterans.

A Custom Mode was added in this update that allows you to tweak and alter more than 30 different parameters for a truly unique playthrough. There is also a new hardcore gameplay mode called Shell Shock Mode. In Shell Shock Mode, you lose health while bleeding and bandages can stop the bleeding but won't restore health. The only way to get health back is to use the extremely rare medkits.

    All-New Features:
    • New creature behaviors that increase unpredictability.
    • Sublevel Fuse System – Restore electricity to turn on the lights in each of the Bunker’s zones.
    • Hardcore Health System – Lose health while bleeding, bandages stop bleeding but don’t restore health, and medkits stop bleeding and restore health.
    • More Randomization – Lockers and their combinations are in random locations.
    • Saving Progress Costs Fuel.
    • Locked Fuel Storage Room – the unlimited supply of fuel, an already difficult-to-access resource, is now locked and has its own combination located somewhere in the Bunker.
    • Revolver locked in storage locker, and not available from the start.
    • The Safe Room is no longer safe.
    • New Training Grounds level for you to practice your skills.
    • ...and much more!
Amnesia: The Bunker is available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox for $24.99 (USD). Today's update is free to everyone that owns the game. Be sure to check out our review of Amnesia: The Bunker if you need any help deciding if this is the game for you.

      Amnesia: The Bunker Review (PC)
      by Shawn Zipay
Frictional Games plays it safe. Perhaps a little too safe.

Frictional Games is known for crafting some of the most memorable horror game experiences over the past 15 years. They began with the Prenumbra series, a trio of titles that gave us our first taste of Frictional's penchant for blending survival horror with physics-based environmental puzzles. The studio then saw a spike in popularity with their next release, Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Amnesia: The Dark Descent expanded upon the...

      Amnesia: Rebirth Announced

Frictional Games working on direct sequel to first Amnesia.

Frictional Games is well versed in the things that go bump in the night. After all, they're responsible for creating some of them. It should come as no surprise then that the studio that created one of the best horror titles of all time, Amnesia: The Dark Descent, is hard at work on a direct sequel to that game. Coming in Autumn 2020 for the PlayStation 4 and PC via Steam is Amnesia: Rebirth.

Amnesia: The Bunker Delayed Until May 23
      by Shawn Zipay
Delayed for polish and to distance itself from other games.

Frictional Games is delaying the release of Amnesia: The Bunker until May 23, 2023. The reason for this is two-fold. First, the studio says that they want this extra time to further polish the game ahead of release. Second, the studio wants to "strategically avoid releasing during a busy week when multiple other games are hitting the market."

Amnesia: The Bunker was already delayed once from March until...
